Medi Assist Healthcare Services announced that its flagship service, Raksha Prime, has facilitated over 2,00,000 cashless hospital discharges across more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide. The Bangalore-based health benefits administrator made the announcement today, marking a significant milestone for the AI-powered discharge service.
The service demonstrated substantial efficiency gains in June 2025, enabling over 27,000 patients to complete their hospital discharge process at least four hours earlier than traditional methods. Raksha Prime eliminates manual steps, including document preparation, claim scanning, uploads, real-time processing, and final clearance procedures, allowing patients to leave within minutes of receiving medical clearance.
The platform received a customer satisfaction rating of 4.75 out of 5, reflecting strong acceptance among patients and healthcare partners. The service addresses a critical pain point in the hospital experience by reducing the typical 3-6 hour discharge wait time through advanced analytics and machine learning tools.
Raksha Prime’s deployment aligns with regulatory requirements set by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) in May 2024. The regulator mandated that cashless authorisation must be provided within one hour of admission, and final claim settlement completed within three hours of discharge requests.
The service complements Medi Assist’s MAven Navigator, which provides real-time estimates of out-of-pocket expenses prior to admission. CEO Satish Gidugu emphasised the company’s commitment to creating a seamless, transparent healthcare experience through these technological innovations.
