Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat, Managing Director and CEO of Karnataka Bank 

The Board of Directors of Karnataka Bank, which met on Monday, has appointed Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat as an Additional Director in the capacity of Managing Director and CEO of the bank for a period of three months with effect from July 16, 2025, or till the appointment of a regular Managing Director and CEO, whichever is earlier, based on the approval received from the Reserve Bank of India.

The bank informed stock exchanges on Monday that Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat will be a Key Managerial Personnel of the bank with effect from July 16, 2025.

He is working as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the bank with effect from July 2.

Bhat has had a 38-years’ career at the Karnataka Bank Ltd, starting as a clerk in 1981. Over the years, he rose through the ranks and served as COO in the CGM cadre up to 2019.

During his tenure in the Karnataka Bank Ltd, he covered all key areas of Banking and Finance, including HR, IT and Digital Banking, Treasury and Forex Operations, Insurance (Third Part Products) and Rural Economy.

Having held top management positions for more than a decade, his leadership and vision have been pivotal in shaping strategic decisions at the highest levels, the bank said.

The Chairman of Karnataka Bank, P Pradeep Kumar, said his wealth of experience and expertise will be invaluable in driving bank’s continued growth and success. “We look forward to working with him in delivering value to our customers and shareholders,” he said.

Bhat said: “I am proud to join Karnataka Bank as Managing Director and CEO. With over a century of trust and goodwill built by the Bank, I look forward to working with all the stakeholders to further build and grow on that strong foundation.”
