R Doraiswamy, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, LIC

R Doraiswamy on Monday took charge as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) of the Life Insurance Corporation of India.

His appointment is for three years from the date of assumption of charge or till the date of his attaining the age of 62 years (that is, August 28, 2028), or until further orders, whichever is the earliest, per a Government notification.

Before taking charge as CEO & MD, Doraiswamy was the Managing Director of the Corporation. He is a Graduate in Mathematics from Madurai Kamaraj University, Fellow Member of the Insurance Institute of India and a student member of the Institute of Actuaries of India.

“Consequent to the taking over charge by R Doraiswamy as CEO & MD of the Corporation, Sat Pal Bhanoo, Managing Director of the Corporation ceases to hold the financial and administrative powers and functions of the CEO & MD with effect from July 14, 2025,” LIC said in an exchange filing.
